The Hebdon Theatre was once a hub of creative activity. A constant programme of plays and even a few cameo appearances by some B list celebrities. But those days are gone and the audiences have gone with them. Until the Arts Council decide to turn their back on London and invest funding into rural arts projects!
Something Ms Bellamy, the long standing in house producer at The Hebdon Theatre, jumps on. And when she employs a director who once worked with some of the greats at The Royal Court, she knows they can put their beloved theatre back on the map, especially with Hamlet as the first production! But with half a cast of hapless actors, a sociopathic stage manager, a pushy rebrand executive, an actor learning English on the job, two convicts, a social worker, and a probation officer... will Hamlet even go on? The Hebdon Players do Hamlet... or do they?
