This summer, The Scruffapillar wriggles into Tales from the Shed!

Chickenshed’s Tales from the Shed team have been working with acclaimed author J.D. Okoro to bring his beloved children’s book, The Scruffapillar, to life on stage.

Using Okoro’s charming storytelling and Tales from the Shed’s signature interactive style, this heartwarming tale follows The Scruffapillar, a confident little caterpillar with a big secret - as he embarks on life’s journey. Along the way, meeting a host of wonderfully quirky characters, including the Thing That Goes Blurgh!

Told through music, puppetry, rhyme, and movement, this enchanting production celebrates transformation, resilience, and the beauty of being yourself. The Scruffapillar shows that you are never too small to make a difference. Perfect for ages 0–6, this joyful and immersive experience will leave children and grown-ups alike wriggling with delight!
