How do I sign up for an event?
There are a few ways to sign up for challenge events through Chickneshed. For some events, like the London Marathon and Royal Parks Half Marathon, please contact community@chicknshed.org.uk. For other events, you can sign up through the registration page for each event, available through the event webpage.
How much do I need to fundraise?
Each event has a different fundraising expectation associated with it. Fundraising targets are decided based on event popularity, difficulty, and availability. You are always welcome to set your target above the fundraising expectation, however the fundraising target set for each event is a minimum expectation.
What happens if I don't meet the fundraising expectation?
If you commit to raising a certain amount for Chickenshed and fall short in your fundraising, the only thing that will happen will be that Chickenshed will miss out on further donations. You will not be held personally repsonsible for paying any shortfall, however please bear in mind that by accepting a place in a challenge event to fundraise for Chickenshed, you are making a commitment to raise a certain amount and taking that place out of availability for someone who could have raised more.
What happens if I can no longer take part in an event after paying the registration?
Registration fees for events are non-refundable, however you are welcome to to defer your place in an event for the next year or use transfer it to another event.
Will Chickenshed help me fundraise?
Of course Chickenshed and our fundraising team are more than happy to help you with tips, advice, and helping you set up a fundraising page, however the fundraising responsibility for your event lies with you. Since we have a high number of fundraisers every year across a number of events, we are unable to provide organisational assistance for every fundraiser in setting up fundraising events etc, however whatever the fundraising challenge you are taking on is we are happy to assist however we can.
Can I sign up for an event on my own and still fundraise for Chickenshed?
Of course! You don't have to sign up through us, if you are lucky enough to get a ballot place for a big event or if you would like to host your own event, please do so! If you need any assistance setting up fundraising pages on either JustGiving or Enthuse, please contact community@chickenshed.org.uk
Can I sign up as part of a team?
Yes! If you're interested in taking part in a challenge event as a part of a team we would love to hear from you, but please bear in mind that we have limited places available for events and may not be able to accomodate all of your team, as much as we would like to.
What happens if the event is cancelled?
In the unlikely and unfortunate event that the event you have signed up for is cancelled, your registration can be refunded to you upon request.
When will I receive event day information?
Once you have signed up for your event and paid your registration fee you will receive all event day information from the event organisers.
I've paid my registration and signed up - what next?
The next steps after you have signed up and paid your registration fees are to train and fundraise! Keep an eye out for information from the event organisers with any updates, and from us
I want to sign up for multiple events - is that possible?
Of course! Signing up for multiple events is a huge challenge and part of that challenge will be your fundraising. If you sign up for multiple events, your fundraising minimum will be the total fundraising minimum for each event you sign up for within a year period.
